Chapter 595 - 594: Finally taking action against the Sun Base 11
All of them suffered some injuries, but it was fortunate that all of them managed to survive. In fact, if they weren't ability users and if they didn't have strong superpowers, then they'll probably already be dead because of the explosion.
They had awakened, so their bodies were stronger than average people, and they also had their abilities to block it; if not, they might have been torn to pieces already, especially Zam and Liam, who were the nearest to those two core leaders.
But they were still very near the explosion, so even though they had reacted in time, they still used a lot of their energy but hadn't managed to block it thoroughly, especially at the very beginning, so most of them had cuts as well as some burns.
Zam and Liam, who were the nearest, were of course the ones who suffered the most, but they actually had more cuts than burns because they used their abilities to put off or redirect the fire that came out because of the explosion.
As for him, after being pushed backwards and suffering a few cuts and mild burns on his arms and face, he didn't suffer anything further, as he had reacted immediately and erected a metal wall around himself while also making a metal wall around all of them.
"Zam, Liam, how are your injuries?" Treyton asked, as the wounds on Zam and Liam were really more serious. Most of their protective cover was already gone, and they had deeper cuts, bruises, and burns all over their bodies.
"It's manageable," Zam answered.
"It's alright. Just minor ones," Liam also said.
Both of them said that they were alright, but their cuts were already bleeding, which just made them look like a bloody mess.
"I see. But you guys just focus on resting first while we wait for Myla and the others to clean up most of the things outside," Treyton said to both of them. He turned to Zam, "Don't bother with the ice walls and just focus on recovering."
Zam nodded and stopped maintaining the ice walls and just let them be. The ice walls would still work, but they won't be as durable compared to when Zam was continuously inputting some of his energy into them. However, the explosions had already stopped, so Zam really doesn't have to maintain them any longer, as they only had to deal with the large amount of rubble on top of them.
Myla, Mia, and Nichole were outside, so they only had to wait for them to clean up the remains of the building that were on top of them so that they could go out. Their abilities were also suitable for such a clean-up, so they'll surely start cleaning up soon.
Of course, they could also start from the inside, mostly with the help of the wind ability users with them, but it's easier for those outside to do it than from the inside; Nate and the others who had wind abilities had also used up most of their energy already and were still trying to replenish it with zombie crystals.
Sure enough, after a few minutes, they heard Myla shouting on their right side.
"Boss! We finished cleaning up this side; you guys can come out through here!"
After hearing what Myla said, Treyton immediately moved the metal on that side and created a door for all of them to go out. As soon as he created the door, he saw Myla and the others waiting for them.
"Boss, are you guys alright?" Myla quickly asked.
"Yes, most of us only suffered some light injuries," Treyton answered and then turned to the other members inside. "Let's go out. Don't forget to carry out those people who are still unconscious."
Since the explosion was too sudden, Treyton prioritized his members when building the metal walls all around them.
He only built metal walls that covered all the members, as he had to make them quick and had to make them very durable, so he didn't have any spare energy for other areas any longer while continuously resisting the series of explosions.
So, they didn't manage to save those that were farther away from them, and only those that were unconscious near them were included and were protected with the metal walls and other barriers that the others had also erected.
As soon as he mentioned those unconscious people, the members who had been very vexed while absorbing zombie crystals became silent for a while before they started carrying those few people out with them.
Treyton knew that they suddenly became silent because there were still people that were considered as slaves in other parts of the building, as well as on the first floor where they were.
They're probably not too concerned about those subordinates of the Sun Base that they had faced, because they knew that most or all of them had committed a lot of crimes, so even if they were really dead, it doesn't affect them very much.
However, the others that were used as shields by their opponents were probably innocent people, so he understood why the others paused a bit before they did what he ordered.
Treyton also felt bad because of those innocent people, especially those near them, because he knew that most of them were probably already dead because of the strong explosion.
However, even though he felt bad, he didn't want to dwell on it too much because even if it happens again, he would still do the same, as he would still prioritize the safety of all his team members and only help others if he could.
"What about those on other floors? Did you rescue any?" Treyton asked while looking at Myla.
"We prioritized making a way out for you guys, so we only cleared this area, but so far we haven't rescued anyone alive," Myla reported.
Treyton sighed and then said, "Okay, just continue sorting out all this debris and see if we could still rescue some people."
